Family Support
Services involving the family as a whole can promote awareness and support the child’s and family’s needs.
Caring for the Whole Family
Children with Epilepsy have unique challenges. Parenting a child with epilepsy can affect daily routines, relationships, and emotional well-being. Support that includes the entire family helps build understanding, strengthen connections, and create a more stable, supportive environment.

A Program Built For Families
Our Family Support Services are designed to help families:
- Understand epilepsy and its impact
- Navigate challenges with confidence
- Access the right resources and support systems
- Strengthen relationships within the home
We focus on helping families solve problems, manage resources, and work through parenting challenges. Services are typically short-term, with follow-up check-ins to support your family’s unique needs over time. The goal is simple, help your family move forward with clarity, stability, and support.
Family support services play a vital role in helping individuals and caregivers feel informed, supported, and connected. My goal is to ensure every family knows they are not navigating epilepsy alone.

What This Program Includes

Parent Training Services
Parent Training Services help parents understand Epilepsy and its impact on their child’s development. The service guides parents on promoting family adjustment and effective parenting tasks to support their child. Family support services and groups are available based on needs.

Family Member Counseling
Family Member Counseling helps families adjust positively to a child’s Epilepsy diagnosis. It encourages effective communication and functional relationships among parents, children, and siblings.

Child And Sibling Support
Child and Sibling Support promotes a child’s growth through better adjustment to their seizure disorder. Issues may include isolation, school difficulties, poor peer relationships, and low self-esteem. Siblings are supported to understand and manage changes in parental attention and their responsibilities. Group therapy is part of this approach.

Counseling Services
Counseling Services provide advocacy, liaison, referral, and linkage to schools, medical, legal, and social service providers. Counselors explain programs for parents and children with Epilepsy and work with schools to promote understanding of Epilepsy and related social issues.
